About Iqra My Way
An accessible Quran reader: a calm place where each reader sets the right size, the right background and the right pace. It is for children and adults who need bigger words, more space or fewer words at a time, for early and slow learners, and for anyone who simply wants to read a little every day. It doesn't matter how much you read, as long as you read.
What helps, honestly
- Bigger text and more space between words and lines help many readers, including readers with dyslexia.
- Arabic letters join, so we never pull the letters apart; only the words and the lines get more room.
- Tinted backgrounds are a matter of comfort. Some readers like them, so they are here to try.
- Fewer words on a screen help a reader who loses their place or gets distracted. The strip at the top always shows the whole ayah, so the meaning stays together.
Where the text comes from
The Arabic text, the transliteration and Abdullah Yusuf Ali's English meanings come from QuranExcel, copied by program and never typed or changed. Splitting an ayah into words only puts spaces back where they were. A Malay meaning will come when a proper Malay translation is in place.
Still being checked
Our asatizah are checking reading a phrase or a few words at a time, and where a phrase ends at the pause signs. This is a place to read, not a place for rulings.
